Kiowa found her forever home with longtime volunteer Amy, who now resides out of the state. Kiowa waited over two to three years for her forever home because she is a diabetic kitty. Lucky girl is now living the high life (insert) in a very loving home with other cats, who have accepted their new sibling with open paws. “She is a wonderful kitty and follows me everywhere,” said Amy. Thank you Amy, you are truly Kiowa’s guardian angel.

We brought Boo Boo home on November 25th, 2012 to meet his new kitty sister, Zoe ( who is also FIV positive). The first few weeks were quite the adjustment for Zoe. She let it be known that she was boss ! Boo Boo was so calm and just let her adjust in her own time. Here we are weeks later and Zoe has realized she has a new best friend. They are adorable together! They sleep together at the bottom of our bed , play together, and even bathe each other. At times Zoe gets annoyed because Boo Boo CONSTANTLY wants to play. He is so great with our 7 yr old daughter . He lets her carry him around and they cuddle together. He is such a great cat and we are soooo lucky to have him as part of our family. He has brought is so much happiness (and laughs from his silly personality and curiosity)!

Mittens made the cat magazine frame! He is such s sweetie, doing really well being by himself during the day. He is so happy to see my daughter when she comes home, just doesn’t leave her alone. Just loves to get in the way of us using the computer and reading the newspaper, but over all a good boy. Thanks again!

Greastest Love Story Ever Told | Titan

Just wanted to update you with a few pictures of Titan (aka Bryce). He is a bug handful but I believe he is enjoying our company as much as we are of his. This past weekend we put him in a life jacket (for dogs) and I took him kayaking with me. The first day was very short and he did good. The second day we went for a sunrise ride and he did great, I think. Apparently he wanted to test the waters quite literally because he ended up jumping in the water. I think I freaked more than he did. He started to kitty paddle but then I plucked him out of the water. He seemed to still like us even after drying off. Can’t wait to see how our next adventure goes. Until then Titan is enjoying his kitty condo we made for him at home. While he also enjoys his second home. Now how many cats can say that they have a home away from home? He does really well traveling too, though it’s only an hour away.

Greatest Love Story Ever Told | Tonks

Tonks is such a character !!! She is still very much kitten at heart, even though she’s probably 3 by now. She talks all the time (she has this cute little raspy short meow that she uses … really, it’s almost like a language!), and tries to get my older 12-year-old cat, Simon to play. Now, Simon doesn’t play, but that doesn’t stop Tonks from trying. I found a new toy she loves — it’s a plastic pole with a long skinny piece of multicolored fleece on it. She loves it!

At night, Tonks jumps on my bed and likes to lean against my side and sleep. When I’m home on the weekends (instead of at work), Tonks loves to crawl onto my lap and fall asleep. She still does that kneeding motion with her front paws when she’s being petted and is purring, just like a kitten.

While she’s still a little jumpy if I accidentally make a loud noise, or there’s something loud outside, she’s getting used to the idea that she isn’t going to be taken away and that she is home now, and she’s flourishing. I can tell she’s gained weight. She’s still a small little girl, but she’s muscular!

She DID discover that my Amish kitchen table has sturdy wooden legs, but a little aluminum foil wrapped around the legs has saved them. I’m still introducing the concept of a sisal scratching post to her … but as the magnet on my refrigerator says, “Cats are God’s way of telling you your furniture is too nice.”

I just adore my little Tonks — BTW, her full name (after a Harry Potter character descended from the House of Black, if you have volunteers that know the books) is Dora Tonks — I don’t call her Dora, but my mom does when she visits, as does one of my friends (they don’t like the name Tonks). Most people have started calling her “Tonksie.” I call her Tonks or Tonksie. She knows her name already and will look up or even walk over to me if I say, “Hey, Tonks!” She always runs to the back door to greet me when I come home from work.

Tonks is just WONDERFUL! And she has totally adopted me…
