ARF to be Part of the 2018  Strongsville Rotary Duck Races

This year, the Strongsville Rotary has generously included Berea ARF in this event to benefit ARF in our efforts to build a new shelter. Our target goal is to sell a minimum of $250 in duck adoptions, in order to have half of the proceeds donated to the capital campaign. Berea ARF Ducks may be adopted online from the Strongsville Rotary Clubs Duck Race website

ARF will part of the Kids Fest activities at the event this year; with adoptable animals joining us, we will also have information about our New Shelter and other upcoming ARF events.

We hope to see you at the races!

Additional Information: On June 2, 2018, an estimated 5,000 rubber ducks will be dropped into the Metroparks Rocky River in Strongsville around 2 pm. In addition to the duck race, there will also be a Kid’s Fest from 11 am to race time, where families can enjoy pony rides, touch a truck, face painting, inflatables, and food! The Rotary Club of Strongsville hosts this fundraising event and offers local schools and non-profit groups the opportunity to sell ducks and earn up to 50% of sales for their organization. A portion of the proceeds will also go to benefit the Metroparks and other Rotary projects. You can become a part of the competition by adopting a duck and entering the race on behalf of the various participating organizations.

Each adopted duck is assigned a unique number prior to the race, which corresponds to their adoption. Once the rubber ducks are dropped into the water, they are on their own and cannot be assisted. They will race to the finish line and the first 5 adopted ducks to cross the finish line will be deemed the consecutive winners. Prizes will be awarded per the following schedule: 1st Place – $2,500, 2nd Place – $1,000, 3rd Place – $500, 4th Place – $100 5th Place – $100.
